Shipping policy

 Effective date: Jun 1st, 2024. 

1. ORDER HANDLING 

Most of our orders are processed and shipped within 48 hours (1-2 business working days). Processing times may be slightly longer during busy periods like holidays or promotion periods. Under these circumstances or if our supply of the products is delayed by an event outside our control then we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and we will take steps to minimise the effect of the delay.

Please note that we will not ship any products and all products will remain our property until we have received your payment in full.

2. PAYMENT METHOD

We accept credit cards and debit cards online, Apple Pay, Google Pay. All available payment options for your location will be shown in the checkout. If you are ordering from either Japan or Vietnam, we also offer bank transfer option.

3. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY TIME

• Shipping and delivery times may vary depending on the destination and availability of the products. We will make every effort to deliver your order within the estimated timeframe but but we cannot be held responsible for conditions beyond our control such as severe weather, customs and border issues (for international shipments), service interruptions, etc… or lost or stolen packages as a result of any specific delivery instructions left for the courier.

• Shipment and delivery will be made to the address specified in your order. A product will be your responsibility from the time we deliver the product to the address you gave us. You will assume the risk of loss or damage to the products once they have been delivered to the delivery address which you specified when ordering the products. We accept no liability where you provide an incorrect delivery address or where you fail to collect the products from the delivery address which you specified. 

• We will not be responsible for supplying the products late or not supplying any part of them if this is caused by you giving us incorrect delivery information. To the extent permitted by the applicable law, we cannot be held responsible for any reasonable or unavoidable delay of delivery or any delay as a result of your actions or inaction.

• By agreeing to our Terms of Service, you hereby authorise us to appoint our designated carrier(s) to carry out shipment and any required customs formalities on your behalf, including payment of any duties, tariffs, or taxes to the appropriate customs authority. 

For your convenience, please find these courier options and estimated delivery timeframes and costs as below. We aim to meet these delivery times but please note that these delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Free shipping is applicable for either orders over 11,000 JPY in Japan or orders over 2,000,000 VND in Vietnam. (including tax and after discounts).

4. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING (OUTSIDE JAPAN AND VIETNAM)

Please note that cross border shipments may be subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities. In respect of all goods dispatched to you to an address outside of Japan or Vietnam, you are deemed to be the importer of the goods and must therefore comply with all the laws and regulations of the country into which the goods are being delivered.

The designated carrier will deliver the products to you in addition to carrying out the customs formalities on your behalf. These customs formalities will be carried out in different countries depending on the country in which your delivery address belongs, and the carrier used. This means that you will be charged duties, tariffs, or taxes at the rate applicable in the clearance country – these will be paid on your behalf by the designated carrier. These clearance countries are subject to change without notice being provided to you.

5. RETURN AND REFUND

At areme, we strive to ensure your complete satisfaction with our products, which we carefully inspect for quality and defects or mistakes before every shipment.

Please note that we only accept returns for domestic orders within Japan or Vietnam if the product is defective, damaged, or sent in error. Due to complexities in customs and tariff duties, all international orders are considered final and are not eligible for returns or refunds.

Return process in Japan and Vietnam

If the product you receive is defective or damaged/broken upon arrival or is different from what was ordered, please email us at hello@areme.co.jp; include order number, a detailed description of problem and proof picture(s) of the damaged, defective or incorrect item(s) received within 3 days of receipt. Once your return is approved, we will provide you with a return authorization number and instructions on how to send the item back to us.

Refund Policy

Upon receipt of the returned item, we will inspect it and notify you of the status of your refund. If approved, your refund will be processed, or a replacement product will be sent out to you. The product must be returned in the same condition in which it was shipped to receive a refund. This includes the original packaging and the box it came in. areme product boxes should not be used as the actual shipping box.

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. Please allow 30 working days for the refund to be processed.
